Meet the New Auto-Reply Engine v3.0
The Auto-Reply Engine just got its biggest update yet. Version 3.0 brings context-aware replies, sharper intent detection, and one-click handoff to a human agent — so your WhatsApp conversations feel less like a script and more like a conversation. Here is what changed, why it matters, and how to get it working today.
What changed in v3.0
The engine now remembers the last few messages in a chat, not just the current one. That single change transforms how replies feel: instead of answering every message as if it were the first, the bot picks up where the conversation left off.
It is the difference between talking to a helpful colleague and talking to a kiosk. Customers notice immediately, and the teams using it notice in their response metrics.
Context-aware replies
Before, a customer who asked “how much is shipping?” and then “what about express?” might get two unrelated answers. Now the engine connects them — it knows the second question is about express shipping and answers accordingly. Replies feel coherent, which means customers stay engaged instead of repeating themselves or bouncing to a human out of frustration.
Context also helps with multi-step conversations. If a customer is walking through a purchase, the bot remembers the product they chose, the size they asked about, and the discount code they mentioned. The thread makes sense from start to finish.
Better intent detection
v3.0 reads intent more accurately across languages and phrasing. “Do you deliver on Sunday?” “Is Sunday delivery a thing?” and “Can you send it Sunday?” all route to the same intent, so the answer is right the first time. Fewer wrong answers means fewer frustrated customers and fewer escalations.
This matters more for regional businesses than for anyone else. Your customers mix English, Bangla and romanized Bangla in the same chat. The engine handles that mix, so a customer typing “delivery kobe ashbe?” gets as good an answer as one typing perfect English.
One-click human handoff
When the bot is unsure, it stops guessing and routes the chat to your team — with the full history attached. The agent sees exactly what the customer asked, what the bot already tried, and picks up without asking the customer to repeat anything. Handoff happens when it matters, not as a default: the bot handles the common questions and escalates the edge cases.
Handoff is where most bots fail. They either never escalate — leaving customers stuck in a loop — or they escalate everything, defeating the point of automation. v3.0 finds the middle: confident on the common stuff, humble on the edge cases, and always one click from a human.
What this looks like in practice
- A customer asks about delivery times.
- The bot answers from your knowledge base, remembering the conversation context.
- They ask a follow-up about a specific product — the bot stays in context.
- They ask something unusual the bot cannot handle confidently.
- One click — the chat is assigned to an agent with full history, and the customer never knows they were “handed off.”
For a support team, that flow is the difference between a customer who feels helped and a customer who feels processed.
How to enable it
If you already use automation in Whatsping, open the Auto-Reply settings and switch to v3.0. If you are new, connect your WhatsApp number through embedded signup, choose a template or let the AI build one, and the engine starts learning your conversation patterns immediately.
There is no migration and no downtime — the update applies to your existing flows the moment you switch. Most teams configure it in under ten minutes and test it by messaging their own number from their phone.
What is next
We are working on deeper CRM memory — so the bot remembers customer preferences across chats — and richer analytics that show exactly which intents your customers ask about most. The roadmap is driven by what teams actually need, and v3.0 is the foundation for all of it.
Try it today
The Auto-Reply Engine v3.0 is live for every plan, including the free 30-day trial. Start free, connect WhatsApp, and let your customers get answers at 2 AM — while your team sleeps.
What changed from v2.0
- v2.0: keyword-based replies. The bot matched words and answered from a fixed script. Fast, but rigid — rephrase a question and you got a wrong answer.
- v3.0: intent-based, context-aware replies. The bot understands the meaning behind different phrasings and remembers the thread. Same speed, dramatically better answers.
- Handoff: v2.0 escalated manually and rarely; v3.0 detects uncertainty and offers one-click handoff with full history.
If you are on an older flow, you will notice the difference on the very first confusing question a customer asks.
Which conversations to automate first
The engine is most valuable on the questions you answer over and over. Start with these four:
- Pricing and plans — “how much does it cost?” has a single, factual answer.
- Delivery and shipping — times, costs, tracking links.
- Hours and contact — when you are open, how to reach a human.
- Order status — where is my order, and what happens next.
Automate the top four, keep humans on everything else, and you have already cut the repetitive load on your team by a large margin.
Settings worth checking
- Confidence threshold — how sure the bot must be before answering. Lower it for more automation, raise it for more caution.
- Escalation rules — who gets the chat when the bot hands off, and what happens if nobody is online.
- Off-hours behaviour — v3.0 can keep answering at 2 AM while your team sleeps, then hand over everything unresolved at 9 AM.
- Language handling — enable multi-language answers if your customers mix English and Bangla.
Troubleshooting
If a flow answers oddly, the fastest fix is usually the knowledge base: the engine is only as good as the answers it is given. Add the missing information, and the next similar question gets the right response. If a conversation escalates more than you would like, raise the confidence threshold — the engine will defer to humans more often, and you can lower it again as the knowledge base grows.
